It’s Five Minute Friday time. The rules are simple. Write for 5 minutes with little to no editing. Link to Lisa-Jo Baker’s page. Most important, stop by the person ahead of you and leave an encouraging message. Do the same for anyone else you’d like to visit.

Truth
It is basic to all of life and growth.
I didn’t realize until I wrote a recent series on Growing Up.
As I thought about essentials for maturing in life and faith.
I realized that being a lover of truth is very basic.
It is essential!
Loving the truth…no matter what.
Do I want to live in denial and pretend all is well?
Or do I want the truth?
All is not well…
and here is what is needed to grow and change.
Here is what is needed to deal with the truth of the situation.
But I don’t want to hear the truth.
You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free! John 8:32
I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
While it is true that the truth is often painful,
I need to listen to it and hear it…good or bad, happy or sad…
Then adjust and change my ways. STOP
Loving the Truth is good.
Ultimate Truth is found in GOD’s Word and personified in Christ.
I can face it in relationships with others in Christian community…
A group of people who interact with me honestly…
With love, prayer, laughter, hugs and wisdom…
And TRUTH!
What a great reminder. God’s Word is the ultimate truth. Thank you for your post.
thanks candice:) so true!
My writing for today’s “Truth” prompt has a very similar message. It’s so good to know that I’m not the only one who reevaluates my personal truths from time to time. Thank you for sharing!
thanks for dropping in jessica. if both of us wrote on the topic similarly, we must be right:)
Hiding from the truth does so much damage! Especially when the people we are hiding from are hiding the same things from us. Why can’t we all be honest and just lay it all on the table, make some choices, and move on!?
thanks for stopping by rabia. i think we get a clue to a partial answer to your question from what happened in the Garden of Eden after the Fall. Once Adam and Eve were broken, there tendency was to hide, not to be open. sad.
Loving me some Gritty Grace Truth Bombs!
love the expression sonya:) might have to steal it someday!
His truth sets us free – true liberty! Being willing to hear the truth is so important:) About God and ourselves! He always knows the right way to deliver the truth so we can grab hold of it! And, for me, sometimes He has to repeat and repeat and repeat until I go, “OOOHhhhhh.” LOL – Wishing you some good God truth this weekend!
thanks for stopping by BCM 🙂 yes, it does…even at times when the truth is painful!
