Recently, I was thinking about my age.
In a couple of years, I’ll be 70.
I realized that my memories cover a long period of time.
I think of something that happened a couple of years ago
and it turns out it was 5 or 10 years ago!
The time is flying by.
I find it difficult to keep up with it sometimes.
The grands that were born a “couple of years ago”
are now turning 5 and 6!
Our recent wedding anniversary reminded me of how long ago that was…
Forty-six years ago?
It can’t be!
Until I look at the ages of my daughters!
Then I realize it is quite believable!
So whether the time flies or drags by.
One thing has remained the same.
Jesus Christ has stayed the same…in a good way!
He is faithful, strong, just, loving, eternal, omniscient and completely wise.
He is gracious, merciful, long-suffering and kind.
He never changes. He is never moody.
He is there through the good and bad.
Thanks be to GOD!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
This was a good post for me to read for my mind has been wondering in the same place. Good reason though, we will be married for 50 years on the 20th of Oct. How grateful I am for 30 some years of walking with the Savior, grateful He never gives up on the lost, grateful for all He has allowed me and hubby to be involved in through the years. It has been adventure. Good post sister.
thanks betty:) it’s funny, i feel a lot different than i expected to at this point. i tho’t i’d feel like i had all the answers to life and our marriage would be one where we no longer had any conflict!
haha! things are a lot different than i expected. i have less answers now than i did when i was younger in some ways. in some ways it is better, but in others, it is definitely not an absence of conflict either. we certainly don’t fight and argue over the trivial things we once did. just different things cause conflict.
i guess we can’t ever get away from our personal desire for our own comfort and convenience…or maybe i’m just more aware of it now than i once was.
God has been so good and faithful.
Thanks, Martha, for the reminder of God’s long-lasting love for us, and that it, He, never changes.
thanks for stopping by kath…all the way from australia! wow. glad you enjoyed the post:) i enjoyed browsing yours as well!
Time flies by SO fast! Some days I think how much time I’ve wasted – and then am reminded how we still have time for more of Jesus. To know him more, to share him with others and to serve him. Makes the passing of years a little easier…
yes kathryn. so true. thanks for your good reminder.
I too will turn 70 in a couple of years, and I can’t believe all but one of our three are in their 40s. And that second great-grandchild just started kindergarten! Who told her she could do that? But oh, the comfort of knowing Jesus has stayed the same. Can’t agree more! I’m one separated from you at FMF, and it’s good to meet you.
welcome sherrey. thanks for stopping by:) sounds like your kids are the ages of ours. we have 7 grands with the last big group being 5-6. the very youngest is 2.
i’m glad you came by and am glad to meet you as well
