Once again, Friday has rolled around. Was your week busy? Ours was. We’ve been doing lots of work on our house! It will be listed on Monday.
There are still some things to be done, but it’s the Azalea Trail here and a perfect time to get things moving for peak exposure. But I digress!
We’re here for Five Minute Friday today. Come join us! The rules are simple.
- Write for 5 minutes. If you can’t finish in that time, let us know when it ended and finish your thought.
- Link to Lisa-Jo Baker’s Five Minute Friday page.
- Leave an encouraging message for the person ahead of you there…and anyone else you want. This is non-negotiable!
REST
GO
Rushing, Stressing
Striving, Struggling
Anxious and in pain.
I lived my life for too long trying to please, trying to fit in.
Second-guessing what others wanted me to be or do.
Never fully comfortable in my skin.
With time, I realized I was accepted in Christ.
To my very core!
Nothing I could do would separate me from His love.
I became more comfortable with the woman GOD was making of me,
With her strengths…once I became aware of them.
With her weaknesses…which were magnified and huge!
I got a glimmer of what GOD saw in me that delighted HIm...
Just a glimpse.
These glimpses of me through His eyes gave me hope.
I am His precious daughter
Redeemed in Christ…
Becoming more like her Father each day
Because of the work He is doing in me.
Learning to find rest in Jesus.
Rest from the labor of searching for acceptance.
The stress of trying to please others… STOP
Brought me to a place of rest in Christ.
Getting a glimpse of where I fit in His Story…
Even in the middle of many changes.
this is lovely – i enjoy free verse, stream of consciousness musings like this.
that searching for acceptance is heavy labor, isn’t it?
blessings on your weekend.
