newcreationToday is a gloomy, stormy, rainy day in East Texas.  But when I looked out the window this morning, this is what I saw!

Our first daffodil in bloom!  While bloggy friends are talking about coming snowstorms, our spring is has arrived!

There is nothing like new life.  After the death of winter, the blooming of new trees and flowers is so beautiful!  It reminded me of the Scripture in II Corinthians 5:17.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,

he is a new creation.

The old has passed away;

behold, the new has come.

It is so easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day realities of life, that we forget…life in Christ brings about a new order!

The old way of living doesn’t have to remain.  There is something about us and our way of life that is new, fresh…like Spring…only better!

Are you aware of the freshness and newness of your life in Christ?

Do you find joy and freshness in your life in Him, as you do the joy in the first bloom of Spring?

Think about the distractions that keep you from the joy of new life in Christ.

Recognize them for what they are…but realize some of the things you consider to be distractions are actually ministries.  Sometimes an attitude change is what is needed more than cleaning out the “distractions”.  Ask GOD for discernment as you think about this.

Our children and and their problems are not distractions…they are our priority in ministry.  Our spouse and his or her “issues”…they aren’t things that keep us from realizing the new life we have in Christ.  They are our priority for ministry…even before the children!

There are other people that GOD has placed in your life as well that are there for purposes that are either to teach you more about GOD’s sufficiency or to whom you have been placed to minister.

However, there may be a lot of activities you are doing right now that are causing you to spin your wheels and drain you of energy that could be used more profitably.

Think about your life and how you are using the time GOD has given you.  Is it aligned in such a way that you are able to minister effectively to the people GOD has put there for you to love as a person who is a new creation in Christ?  Think about it.  I’m being pushed to think in areas I don’t often think as I write this post!
