The rules for Five Minute Friday: write for 5 minutes. I then read over what I wrote, make sure it makes sense.  Add photos and it is on its way!  Take a look at Gypsy Mama today and see what some of the others wrote…and enjoy!  This is today’s word:

CATCH!

We use this word so many ways!

Catch a fish

Catch a ball

Catch in my throat

Catch in my back

Catch a mouse

Catch a cold

Catch a falling star…

and the one thing we hope our children will do is

Catch our values!

But so often, we can be very vague about them.

Yes, we want them to be good, moral people.

We want them to be “nice”  (whatever that is!)

But what does that entail?

We need to do more than hope our children “catch” our vague morality!

They know us.  They know we aren’t naturally that way!

We need to be specific.

What DO we believe?

Which of our beliefs are worth keeping and passing on?

Why do we believe them?

Why are they worth believing?

Spending time in God’s Word will help.

Time in prayer will help.

Spending time in a church with a variety of ages of God’s people will help.

Being in a church where God’s Word is taught in a variety of ways will help.

Then it is up to God to work in their hearts and change THEM.  (doesn’t that sound scary!)

He might change us too!  By His Grace.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,

that we should be holy and blameless before him….

In Him we have redemption through His blood,

the forgiveness of our trespasses,

according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us….
