As you can see, I have been AWOL from my blog and Five Minute Friday for the past couple of weeks. It has been a bit crazy. We have moved. We closed on this house the end of March, moved April 1 and have been getting settled in since then.
I think we are finally starting to make progress. The kitchen is coming together pretty well. The waited-for couch delivery has been delayed so that has slowed down settling into the living room. The bedroom is shaping up now and for the first time this weekend, we didn’t find the lacks in clothes to be a detriment in getting ready to go places.
For ahile, it seemed that every time we got ready to go anywhere, we were in a mad scavenger hunt to find the right socks/shoes/accessories or whatever was needed just to get ready!
This weekend, it seemed that we had found most of those essential items…finally! stop
So we are heading into our week, hoping to finish off the settling in process enough for me to be able to park the car in the garage. (I’m almost there.) I’m hoping to actually get some curtains up and pictures on walls. That is my favorite part. But I will have to have that couch delivered in order to do it. I need to see how it all fits together!
Life went on while we were moving
In the middle of the move, painting, replacing the white carpet with flooring, I even had a birthday and got another year older! Some days, I really felt my age. Now I’m more rested and less stressed.
We are enjoying this wonderful gift. We love the gift of the beauty all around us and the beauty of our home that we can appreciate. Soon, I hope to do some work in the garden, but I don’t have time for it yet.
We are enjoying the blessings of this Easter season and the wonderful gifts GOD has given us. I hope you are doing so as well.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man (or woman) who takes refuge in him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!
The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.Psalm 34:8-10 ESV
Hubby and I have said we are never moving again, but after 14 years in the first house and 19 in this house I am beginning to see where downsizing could help us to enjoy our future retirement more, so, for now, we are staying put but decluttering bit by bit and taking control of our home one area at a time. Glad you are settling in. Thanks for sharing.
