There is something about getting away from home that allows you to get a chance to breathe. Well, hopefully it does.

Getting away from the normal routine allows me the chance to breathe a little. This environment provides space, order and beauty as well as family. All provide room for being able to breathe, get reacquainted in new ways with grandchildren that are at new stages in their lives and enjoy the beauty all around me.

This northwestern beauty is unlike the kind of beauty where I have ever lived. It often takes my breath away with its pure grandeur. The trees are beyond huge as they tower over the yard or along mountainous roads. Each turn in the road brings another view that is drop-dead gorgeous. During the summer, the view of Mount Ranier is clear as a bell! Between the water, the mountains, the plant life and the moderate weather, it is a beautiful place for sure. What a beautiful reminder of the largeness of GOD’s creation as well as the diversity of the beauty he surrounds us with.

I was definitely ready for time to breathe. I was weary on too many levels. Thankfully, I’m getting refreshed slowly. By next week, I think I’ll be ready to head home and pick up some responsibilities again.

Meanwhile, we will enjoy the occasional cool day and be refreshed by the beauty all around us…as well as our family who is delightful!

Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
    praise him according to his excellent greatness!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
