Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wondrous works!
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually!
Remember the wondrous works that he has done,
his miracles and the judgments he uttered,
O offspring of Israel his servant,
children of Jacob, his chosen ones!He is the Lord our God;
his judgments are in all the earth.
Remember his covenant forever,
the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,
the covenant that he made with Abraham,
his sworn promise to Isaac,
which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute,
to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan,
as your portion for an inheritance.”When you were few in number,
of little account, and sojourners in it,
wandering from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to another people,
he allowed no one to oppress them;
he rebuked kings on their account,
saying, “Touch not my anointed ones,
do my prophets no harm!”
Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and he is to be feared above all gods.I Chronicles 16:8-25
What more can I say? This is another passage to help us as we come with thankful hearts to GOD. Yes, we’re emphasizing it this month, but it is helpful for us at all times of the year as well!
It’s time to practice being thankful.
What did this writer see to thank GOD for?
How is that helpful to you in your prayers of thanks?
You filled with the Word and a photo. Thank you for the time you took to sharing with/for all of us out in the world.
glad you stopped by joanne:) you’re welcome.

thanks for stopping by rona. thanks for your comments.
sworn promises, covenants and miracles…I’m giving thanks. blessed Sunday to you Martha!
absolutely lisha:)
The writer of these scriptures wants us to be thankful for God’s deeds and HIS covenant. I Thank God that HIS covenant never changes. It is the same today, yesterday and forever more! – visiting from the Sunday Community
it’s true Trinity. Glad you stopped by. the thread of the covenant GOD made with His people…to be their GOD and provide a redeemer through the nation of Israel is carried through the whole of Scripture, including this passage. We can also be thankful for who GOD is as this writer is…i think it was david.
along with our thanks to the LORD, we are encouraged to tell what GOD has done for us to others…or tell of all His wondrous works!
being thankful is one area where i tend to get into a rut…then i don’t really think about what I am saying. reading how others in Scripture thank and praise GOD helps me learn ways to be more thankful or areas i didn’t think of to thank Him at all! That is one of the things that is so helpful about reading some of these passages on being thankful:)
