LOSS…
That aching emptiness in your heart after a relationship has been broken…
a loved one has passed away…
a move has taken place where you know it is unlikely you will ever see some friends again…
That feeling when you realize a once “best friend” is no longer on the same page with you…
Your spouse is moving in a different direction in an important area of life… and you don’t know if you will ever be able to agree.
A child with whom you were once close has turned on you…in a large or small way and left you with an empty, sad feeling of…loss.
The realization that something is missing in your life. Something important that has left an empty gaping hole…that only the Eternal God can heal…and fill.
Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:20-21)
**running behind this week. have been in Colorado at a blogging conference. am almost home. couldn’t resist this topic! hope your summers are going well and that your losses are few.
Want to take five minutes with Gypsy Mama and just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. Here’s how we do it: Write for 5 minutes flat with no editing, tweaking or self critiquing. (Well, I edit a tiny bit so it all makes sense. Then I add some photos and put in my links.) (This Friday post is from last Friday.)
Martha, You really answered my question I posted today on your blog. Thanks for posting it. I’m having a tough time being patient waiting for the house to be ready. Its been ten months and our poor children have to be tired of putting us up. Love, Carolyn
i didn’t see another comment from you carolyn. once i get home i’ll dig around for the question. one thing i have learned is that our losses are not only for us but for those around us. yes, they do sanctify us, but God also uses them to sanctify those around us. we aren’t required to make life more difficult for them of course, but He works that way. it isn’t easy to be living w our kids and having to receive help from them. however, it gives them an opportunity to learn patience too…and grace us…even when it is uncomfortable for all of us. blessings on you as you learn to trust the timing of the Great Shepherd of the sheep who has saved you by the blood of the eternal covenant.
