I came across this picture in my upload of photos last week. I knew it needed one of many verses from the Psalms to accompany it! I put in my search words and this was the one I came up with.
How encouraging!
He is the Rock we can come to continually! He is our Rock and our Fortress.
I don’t know about you, but in the last few years, I have had days when I just want to crawl into a hole and be quiet. I don’t know if it is my age or what, but I rarely remember feeling that way when I was younger. I suspect it is a combination of weariness of body, soul, spirit and mind. They all wear out quicker and need to be quiet in order to rejuvenate!
And that seems to be what is being talked about here because he goes on in this Psalm to ask GOD to rescue him from the wicked, the unjust and cruel. It seems like those are the only people we hear about these days. It is exhausting!
But the reminder is that our hope is in the Lord, the One in whom many of us have trusted since we were young. How encouraging to think that in a world so full of evil and injustice, we can hope in GOD. We can take refuge in Him just as we would in a huge rock.
How encouraging is that as we go to worship today!
You are my rock and my fortress O my GOD!
I am a “rocky” person and a “Rocky” person. I have PILES of rocks in my yard, b/c, when driving around and about, I always want more. I’ve had them from a variety of places in our nation and a few countries I’ve been in. I always focus on them as a HIM!! I trust HIM… my “Rocky” Father… more than anyone else. You made me smile.
i’m glad joanne:) i’m glad you like rocks too!
I’m so glad that He is my refuge and fortress as well. I run to and hide in Him continually.
I loved this photo of huge rocks:) I knew they would be great for this kind of verse! thanks for stopping by elizabeth:)
