As I was cleaning out my garage this week, reorganizing Christmas boxes, I thought about this carol: Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne. The refrain says: "O come to my heart Lord Jesus, There is room in my heart for Thee." I realized there is often so much clutter in my heart and mind that takes up the space and energy I might use to stop and remember with gratefulness the gift GOD gave us when He came in human form. I don't think about it often enough. "I want to make more rrom in my life for you Jesus." #roomforjesus #christmascarols

Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne and Thy Kingly Crown… The words are included with the video below. It’s not as well known as many of the other Carols, but its words are golden.

How often are our hearts and minds cluttered, just like my garage. Especially at this time of year. We are busy thinking about all the things we have to do during this season. They clutter our thinking. We focus on the unimportant details and forget why we have Christmas in the first place.

Is there room in your heart for Jesus? Or are is it cluttered with lots of unimportant details that have nothing to do with Him?

We’re not just cluttering our thoughts with things we have to do. We also are thinking about future plans, worries, preoccupations, and all the little things that tend to clutter the spaces in our heads. Are we making time to think about Jesus? What He did? Why He did it? It’s pretty amazing that He came to earth for us isn’t it?

Jesus left the glories of heaven in order to provide redemption for those of us who would accept it. He provided it as a full, free gift. Forgiveness without strings, from a Father who loves us to the core. It is unimagineable!

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:5-11 ESV

Sing along to the music as you read the words to this beautiful song that reminds us of what Jesus did while He was here on earth.

Have you made room in your heart for Jesus during this holiday season?

Ask Him to show you where the clutter is hiding out in your heart and life. What needs to be removed and cleared away?
