“Let there be light!”

It took those simple words to begin the process of creating the world. This GOD created our world, with all the detail we now find present down to each cell. Much of it He simply spoke into being.

He also shows such variety in the creatures he created, the plants He placed here, the variety of colors, and the stunning beauty he placed everywhere! The more I think about it, I can’t imagine the creativity it took to dream up all the variety that He placed here.

But the vastness of His creation is also something we don’t think about often. As space is discovered more and more, we find the same detail and masses and masses of stars flung further and further into space!             stop

This reflects aspects of who GOD is…stunningly creative!

It speaks to me so much of who GOD is. He is involved in details. He doesn’t miss any of them.

He understands and creates immense variety…in people and things. A number of years ago, I began to understand that GOD wasn’t about making people look like cookie cutter copies of each other. It was very liberating. GOD has a special place for each of us to fit. We need to fill that spot and not compare ourselves to others or try to be like any of them.

He is vast…larger than I can imagine! His universe is spread out over millions and millions of miles. It takes multiple light years to get from one end to many of the locations inside our universe. With each new discovery, they find that it extends further and further than was previously thought. We don’t even know where it ends.

What a comfort to know if my life is in His hands, I can rest in Him. He can handle anything. His creativity is beyond any that I can imagine. No matter how much I try, I can’t exhaust His vastness.

What a wonder!

I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form light and create darkness,
I make well-being and create calamity,
I am the Lord, who does all these things.
