This is an interview of a pastor in our fellowship of churches (we call it a presbytery). The church is a Gospel-preaching, Gospel-believing church. He was a “successful” pastor…until GOD started working in his family through depression, abuse of pain-killers, and…well, listen to their story of GOD’s amazing grace!
I’m joining Legacy Leavers Thursday today for a visit. Come join me!
yes gay,
i tho’t there were multiple applications that could be drawn from this conversation! that’s why i shared it:) we have known them from a distance for quite a long time. it has been touching to observe his growth in grace as he has repented before his fellow presbyters and modeled humilty b/f them during his period of time out of ministry and eventual return to ministry on the staff of the church he once pastored.
WOW…just wow! Amazing testimony. Two things she said really stood out to me…”To need to be right is worshipping at the altar of self.” and this…” Are you ready to enter into a marriage with no change agenda?”
There is so much in this video that all of us can take away…no need to have gone through any type of addiction in order to learn from these two! Or is it that there are so many ‘addictions’ that we don’t recognize as such…like the addiction of needing to have our own agenda’s filled…the addiction of needing to be right. In any addiction, we have made something into an idol…something that sits on the altar of our hearts and minds, and takes God’s rightful place in our lives.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Is it alright for us to share with others?
blessings,
Gay
