GO

When I think of backwards, I think of Lot’s wife, learning how to dress (and putting clothing on wrong) looking at the past more than the present or the future…but the main thing that I thought of was the Kingdom of God!

Talk about BACKWARDS…and upside down!  No wonder the Pharisees hated Jesus.  Was there anything about Him that fit their view of the Messiah?  Did His world-view fit theirs in ANY way?

They were so used to being admired…at least by each other… for their ability to keep the rules, and look religious, and be in control, and seem so perfect!

What were the things Jesus talked about?   “The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” And you know they must have loved this one!  “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

I don’t know about you, but personally, I’m grateful that He came for the sinners, even for those of us that struggle with the self-righteousness of the Pharisees…He came for all of us…He died for all of us…I’m glad His Kingdom is an upside-down one.

Dressed in His righteousness, I have hope.  Dressed in mine?  I can’t stand in His presence.  I have no inherent goodness of my own.  (cf. Romans 3:10-12)

This is another FIVE-MINUTE FRIDAY exercise sponsored by Gypsy Mama.  We write for 5 minutes on a given topic.  I add photos and links and am done.  Check out her blog for the perspectives of others who wrote last Friday when I did…too bad you couldn’t see it then!
