Thanks to vacations, last Sunday the worship service was led by our local RUF pastor, Jeff Jordan. In his pastoral prayer, among other things, he prayed for “those who suffer from unseen pain and suffering. For those who often feel like ducks who look great on the outside, but underneath are paddling as hard as they can just to keep up!…” (I’m sure he said it better. This is the jist.) That was a touching prayer. I don’t know about you, but I can certainly identify with that prayer, more often than I would like to admit.
TOUCH OF GRACE
Then today (Tuesday), we went to meet the radiation oncologist. He was very personable (so was his staff–less and less found these days). As we chatted further, we discovered that he is a christian as well. What could be a happier combination? We have a doctor that we have yet to hear one bad word about from people he has treated (in terms of competency), a pleasant office staff AND someone who is a christian. That isn’t a combination we often find. What a grace!
partial post
Isn’t Grace amazing? Each time I think I wrap my brain around it, I realize how much more will be revealed in Heaven. Here are lyrics from a great song, King of Grace, written by a former pastor of mine (you can find it on the internet through Sovereign Grace music):
We have come to a throne of grace
Where our Mighty Savior
Perfects our praise
Where wrath and judgment
Have been put away
Where not a trace
Of all our sin remains
You’re the King of Grace unending
To Your open arms we run
You’re the King of Grace unending
And we rest in Your unfailing love
And we rest in Your unfailing love
We have come to a throne of grace
Where our Prince of Peace
Ever lives to pray
For those His sacrifice
Has bought and saved
Where saints and angels
Sing eternal praise
i love the words audra. yes, the words have been said so often, they sometimes don’t carry the full meaning but His grace truly is amazing:)
